League
AC Oxgangs ... 2 Inch Colts ... 4

It was an icy cold bracing wind blowing through St Mark's this morning but it was dry and bright and just about perfect conditions for the game.

Bradley had a good interception at the back when he found himself as the last man before IC saw their first shot at goal go wide. Josh too did well at the back mopping up with an air of calmness about his play. AC's first attack came when Cami played a great ball across goal, no one was on hand to attack it and when the ball came back over to him, his second ball was just over the bar. Steven did well coming out, acting as an auxiliary sweeper, starting a counter attack which produced some nice football but Rory wasn't able to get anything on the end of a good ball forward from Alex.

It was IC's turn to hit on the counter and they managed to score from it in the 13th min, 0-1. Three minutes later and IC managed to score again, this time it came from good pressure from a corner, 0-2. And it was another set piece that saw them get their third, this time it was from a throw in, deep in the AC area, 0-3. It may have been more but for Bradley again strong at the back, playing the last man position well and ACO strung some good passing moves together and before long Rory was having a shot at goal but wasn't able to have a second crack at the rebound before the IC 'keeper had saved at his feet.

The game had opened up and Steven came out to sweep up the danger again but IC were pressing and able to get another shot at goal that Steven did well to save before Aiden had a good shot at goal with Cameron, pushing forward, not able to get a touch on it. But he had another shot at goal that the 'keeper couldn't hold but the 'keeper redeemed himself with a fine save when Rory had a shot from the rebound. Aiden, Rory and an IC player all came together and went down but thankfully were fine and able to continue.
Half Time :  AC Oxgangs ... 0  Inch Colts ... 3

Josh did well at the start of the second half, back defending making a timely interception and Rory had a nice move down the wing but getting muscled off the ball this time and Aiden had a good shot at goal but was unlucky to see it go wide, ACO were playing well, Rory and Alex pushing forward but IC came back and Steven had to do well pulling of another fine save but he wasn't able to hold the next one but Bradley, having a really good game this morning, was on hand to mop up, neither could do anything about the next one, it was a lovely goal from wide on the right, 0-4.

IC were pressing, lifted by the goal, and Steven produced yet another great save, the pressure was telling and they should have had another but somehow put it wide and the next attempt was over the bar, Aiden was able to break forward but again the ball finished up wide and IC did the same at the other end and probably should have sneaked another when the old problem ACO had with passing the ball out the safety zone, reared it's head again but thankfully they weren't made to pay for it on this occasion.

IC had another good shot well saved by Steven again before ACO were finally able to get on the score sheet, maybe against the run of play but the passing football had warranted something from the game, It was a lovely pass from Alex, slotting Cameron in to claim a good, well worked goal, 1-4.

Unfortunately the turning point in the game should have been ACO getting their first goal but it came from an unsavoury incident in the 16th minute when Rory, who had just been out muscled off the ball, sought immediate retaliation with the boy and kicked out at him in an off the ball incident, Rory quite rightly sent off for his misdemeanour.

The game could have gone down hill with ACO down a player but some how ACO dug deep and managed to get a second and this was a nice piece of football. Steven, now playing as an outfield player, slipped an intelligent ball forward, with pace, for Aiden to run on to, the lone striker hitting an absolute cracker that the IC 'keeper could do nothing about, 2-4. The tall striker nearly claimed his second shortly after but the 'keeper just getting his fingertips to push it round the post.

IC got a wake up call from the sidelines, the coaches not happy at conceding two goals, bellowing instructions, driving their team forward and they should have got one back, when one of their players diverted a goal bound shot, wide of the post, when he intervened with a speculative header. Bradley was in the right place again when the next IC attack came, standing up strong to clear the danger and win himself the MotM, the last bit of action saw Alex getting fingertips on a save before the ref blew for FT.

League
Hutchison Vale BC ... 14 AC Oxgangs ... 2

With HV's Pele match postponed and several of their squad turning out for the Maradona side, this fixture had a slightly unbalanced look about it which was reflected in the final score. However, despite the odds being stacked against them from the kick-off, the ACO players didn't let anyone down.

It came as no surprise then that HV scored within the first minute and were two up almost immediately when they put over an expert cross into the area that their lively wee front man dispatched at the second attempt ... and before long it was 3-0. Josh pushed forward and did well down the left, doing enough to get a corner but HV dealt with it with ease.

One of HV's strong points was the quality of the crosses they were able to deliver into the box with pace - Steven doing well to deal with one with several HV players breathing down his neck - but he was unfortunate with the next one when he saved at one boy's feet but couldn't hold it and another HV player picked up the ball and scored with Steven stranded. 4-0 and they got a fifth and a sixth before ACO could get a foot in the game again, but when they did HV came straight back and made it seven in the 21st min.

The mood was lifted when Steven somehow managed to save the ball "between his legs" and he held it there much to the amusement of the onlookers, before play continued. HV should have scored another when they flashed a lovely ball over from the left but no one was on hand to do anything with it, surprisingly. The goal of the game came in the 23rd min when HV scored what can only be described as a spectacular goal from a good distance out of the area and from the left - their player somehow whipped a beautiful ball in and over Steven in goals.
Half Time :
Hutchison Vale BC ... 8  AC Oxgangs ... 0

ACO started the second half a lot brighter and Aiden played a nice ball over for Rory but he couldn't quite get on the end of it - but the wee striker made no mistake when the next opportunity arose - Aiden again the provider after some good work from Alex down the left and Rory pushing up from his midfield role today. Aiden slipped a nice ball through for Rory to outfox the HV defence and slot it past the experienced 'keeper to break ACO's deadlock and net his sixth goal in the last five games to keep this amazing scoring run going, 8-1.

HV did what all good teams do and that is come back from setbacks and Steven did well keeping them out for a bit longer after they had set up camp in the ACO box. Despite two corners in succession and mounting serious pressure their next goal actually came from a counter attack with the Peter Crouch look-a-like (who we have come across previously), producing a great sweeping move down the left going past players with ease, the big lad really impressing on this occasion, making it 9-1.

ACO produced another good move when Harry played a nice ball in for Rory but the HV 'keeper dealt with it. HV came on the attack again and Steven did well charging out to prevent a goal but the big lad scored when ACO never cleared it sufficiently, 1-10. And it was 1-11 pretty quickly after when they scored from outside the area - the big lad played a nice ball in the box but the HV player uncharacteristically sclaffed his shot but ACO's failure to clear their lines cost them again when Ewan inadvertently cleared to the feet of an HV player who immediately dispatched the ball for a goal after 16 mins, 1-12.

Rory, tracking back, clipped the feet of a HV player, giving away a free kick right on the edge of the area, only the line preventing it from being a penalty, but thankfully they weren't able to capitalise on it with the free kick going over the bar. The next bit of action saw the opposite happen, with Aiden being taken down in the HV box and being awarded a penalty, which he duly stepped up and took expertly to make it 2-12.

It was 2-13 in the 21st min when HV somehow eventually got a toe on the ball and put it away through a ruck of players after a game of veritable pinball in the area. Alex, now in goal for the remainder of the game, produced a great save and at the other end Aiden was presented with a good opportunity to score but somehow put it wide. HV shot wide again with Alex producing another great save, but HV were to get one more and it was one of their subs looking like he had something to prove, twisting and turning before doing well to claim a good quality individual goal, 2-14.

That's how it finished at full time and despite the feeling of a spot of injustice when the game kicked off, ACO did really well in the second half and gave as good as they got at times and were quite good to watch - it certainly provided the boys with a good work out.

Scorers : Rory, Aiden

Man of the Match : Rory gets it today for his good link-up play pushing forward and, although not perfect, he was much improved in his tracking back and general all round team work. Bradley and Harry both did really well today and credit to all the boys for showing a fighting spirit against difficult opposition.

AC Oxgangs ... 3 Edinburgh City ... 7

Things looked bright when Andrew struck a good shot at goal but unfortunately couldn't hit the target but that was turned on its head when EC went 0-1 up in the first minute - Steven saved but couldn't hold the ball and EC scored on the rebound at an acute angle and their lively No.10 made it two pretty quickly after, 0-2.

Bradley did really well when he was the last man at the back to snuff out another EC attack and Josh was back to help his team mate, sticking a foot in to put the ball out for a corner before EC hit a long range shot that Steven dealt easily with. And it was Bradley who was strong again when the next wave of attacks came, before their No.10 went just wide but their pressure paid off when Steven couldn't hold the first shot, found EC had a player lurking behind him ready to nip in for the rebound making it 0-3 in the 10th min.

Two minutes later and EC got another - this one was a well worked goal with a nice cross into the box with a willing runner on hand to put it away 0-4.
ACO almost got one back when Cameron played a nice cross into the area but Aiden couldn't get a foot to it and before you know it EC scored again, cutting through the ACO defence with consummate ease on that occasion - their No.10 playing in No.7 to score, 0-5.

ACO eventually got off the mark in the 15th min when Josh played a beautifully weighted ball through and Aiden dispatched it expertly on that occasion, 1-5. ACO had another player on by this point due to the scoreline and it looked like the extra body was eventually telling when Cameron had a good shot saved after some great work down the right, the ball going out for two corners - but ACO couldn't make anything from either and a swift counter attack from the second one almost caught ACO out but Steven did well charging out his area to clear the danger.

EC got another shortly after when their deadly crossing found a player in the box who hit a lovely wee flick at goal to score with a nice tricky wee strike, 1-6. But ACO got their own when Josh, having a cracking game this morning, played another nice ball in for Aiden, who in turn had a nice shot cum cross that Rory did well to connect with and score a lovely goal - his scoring run continuing, that being his 5th in the last four games, despite being unwell today and only managing about ten minutes before having to be replaced! 2-6.

That goal seemed to eventually wake ACO up a bit, (Jim questioning them later about them being quiet and half asleep prior to it) and they produced a lovely bit of play with Josh absolutely involved in everything. EC managed one last attack of the half but Steven saved at his front post.
Half Time :
AC Oxgangs ... 2  Edinburgh City ... 6

The second half got underway and Cameron took the ball on a lovely run down the right before EC nipped in putting it out for a corner and Bradley did well with a good shot at goal from it - the ball just over the bar. But he had Steven to thank a short time later when it looked like he had scored an og, Steven somehow got finger tips to it.

The EC No.7 was a tricky player who likes to make those mazy runs into the box but again Bradley was equal to him, doing well to stand up and stop him in his tracks.
Josh had a good shot saved in the 9th min at one end before Steven did well at the other as the game was moving from end to end. EC hit ACO with a nice counter attack but the final ball was wide - and it was Josh again with the next shot but the EC 'keeper was having a good game, holding everything and if it wasn't the 'keeper it was the woodwork, Harry seeing a cracking shot ricochet off the EC front post from an ACO corner.

What was incredulous to those watching was that, despite all these attacks, there had been no goals in the second half from either side. But it was thanks to Steven again when he somehow managed to save at the feet of the EC striker when a goal looked certain in the 16th min and he did well again when EC came rushing forward on the counter as EC were forcing themselves into this game and it was Andrew this time who popped up as the last man to clear the danger and there was no excuse for missing when the EC fullback somehow contrived to put it wide when the goal was gaping. But two minutes later and EC eventually got another when they scored in the 19th minute with the first goal of the half, incredibly. 2-7

Harry thought he had scored in the 24th minute with the 'keeper beaten - a player got back to clear his shot off the line but Steven, now playing as an outfield player, hit a cracker into the top right corner to make it 3-7 and that's how it stayed

League
Edina Hibs ... 3 AC Oxgangs ... 1

Steven carried on where he had left off last week with a fine save in the first min and did well when EH came on the counter a short while later. ACO got a goal in the third min when Ewan powered down the right wing, supplied a beautifully weighted ball for Rory to do what any good striker would have done and get something on the end of it. Rory, instinctive in putting it past the 'keeper to make it 0-1 and keep his scoring form going with his 4th goal in the last three games.

Steven produced a point blank save when it looked like EH would score but ACO went up the other end and produced some nice football with Ewan Cameron and Josh involved but couldn't convert their possession. EH had two corners but Cameron went on a nice run on the counter attack, had a shot, but the 'keeper saved.

EH managed an equaliser in the seventh min when they played a nice ball in, a player popped up at the back post to catch ACO napping, 1-1. And they might have had another but Bradley was in the right place and was solid, breaking up the play and playing an intelligent ball forward. Ewan was doing well down the right but EH played a nice sweeping move out of defence and on the attack with the final ball across goal but no one on hand to have a dig.

Harry went wide in the sixteenth minute and Andrew had a shot saved. ACO were doing well in the EH area with a lot of possession, passing the ball about with Harry, Josh, Cameron and Andrew all involved but didn't make anything from it - and were made to pay when EH went wide with the first attempt but scored at the back post again, with the next one, 2-1

ACO nearly came straight back from the setback but Harry's shot finished wide. EH had a period near the end of the first half when they had two or three shots at goal that were either wide or saved and right on the stroke of half time Cameron went on one of his lung bursting runs, had another crack at goal but the EH 'keeper saved well again.
Half Time :
Edina Hibs ... 2  AC Oxgangs ... 1

The second half started with much the same pattern of play - fairly end to end but it was EH who were having shots on goal with two in the third minute. And Steven had a nice save before EH played a nice cross with a good shot at goal but Josh snuffed out the danger before launching a quality ball over the top for Rory to run on to - but the EH 'keeper spotted the danger and came out to collect before Rory could get on the end of it.

ACO had good pressure retaining the ball well in the EH half but just couldn't take their chances, which on reflection, was a theme for the ACO play today - good possession but just not able to take their chances. It looked like EH were going to make ACO pay for having not taken their chances when they had a good counter attack in the eleventh min but the final ball was wide.

It was EH's turn to have all the ball with ACO having Steven to thank for the three saves he made before EH eventually got the goal that their dominance merited, hitting ACO on the counter attack to make it 3-1. And they could have had another shortly after but for the ball going wide of Steven's right hand post.

There were three more shots on goal - Cameron had another good shot well saved, EH had a lovely turn and shoot that Steven saved and Josh had the final action in this game when he was through on goal, hitting a powerful shot but the EH 'keeper held it well.
Full Time :
Edina Hibs ... 3  AC Oxgangs ... 1

Scorer : Rory

Man of the Match : Rory came close this week with his clever link up play, deft touches and nice lay off's but Harry wins it this week for playing in a new position that he excelled at, playing the ball out of defence with an air of calmness - well done to all the boys.

League
AC Oxgangs ... 4 Currie Star ... 5

Steven looked lively from the off, saving at the feet of the CS player - they had another shot but it finished wide on the right. The game was being played at some tempo and Andrew whipped a lovely strong ball from the left that Cameron, back in the ranks today after a period away, managed to get a head on but the ball finished wide of the target - it was like he had never been away when he surged down the right wing and had a crack at goal.

The play was swinging from one end to the other and Andrew did well at one point with good strong clearances. Bradley did well clearing the danger when Steven couldn't hold a ferocious shot from CS and did well dealing with a difficult shot in from a corner. Bradley was proving to be a good outlet for his 'keeper, moving the ball out from the back and playing some great balls out of defence down the right hand wing and it was from one of these build-ups that saw Ewan getting a shot off at goal but the CS 'keeper had it covered.

Steven produced an amazing save from very close range in the eighth min and CS put a good ball across goal but there were no takers. Ewan was doing well down the left while Cameron was doing really well powering down the right - he played a ball in, CS putting it out for a corner, ACO took it expertly and finished it off with Harry poking it away to break the deadlock in the eleventh min, 1-0. But the lead was short lived as CS hit a 25 yarder with some power, Steven couldn't hold it and the CS No.7 was on hand to put away the rebound, 1-1.

Bradley took a good free kick just outside the box that CS did well to clear and Josh had a shot at goal that finished up in the side net after some really good football from ACO down the right.
Steven produced another incredible save when it looked like they would score but he could do nothing about the next one - it was the No.7 again to make it 1-2 in the seventeenth min and they nearly got another, but somehow Josh got back in time to make a superb last ditch tackle, pushing it out for a corner. When it was swept in, it was a close thing coming back off the top of the crossbar. Andrew had a shot at goal that went wide and Alex saw his attempt at goal saved in the twentieth min.

Cameron went on one of his great runs with the ball at his feet taking players on but unfortunately his team mates weren't presenting him with options to pass to and sadly the attack fizzled out and before you know it CS hit on the counter with their wee No.2 rounding steven to make it 1-3.

Cameron was still pushing forward, this time he had a dig himself but it finished just wide. ACO had a wee mix up at the back before Steven produced his third wonder save of the first half to keep the score the same before the ref blew for half time.
Half Time :
AC Oxgangs ... 1  Currie Star ... 3

Josh cleared at the back which started a good ACO counter attack but the CS 'keeper read the situation well and came out to clear. Josh had another shot at goal but CS hit ACO on the counter this time and again Steven did well saving with his knee's! CS had another ball across goal before their No.7 put another powerful shot over the bar.

Another patient ACO build up eventually finished with a goal and there was some dubiety about the scorer, with Cameron having a shot at goal that Rory somehow got something on, to claim his second poachers goal in as many weeks, 2-3.

Steven, having the game of his life, produced yet another amazing save getting his body behind this one and getting praise from the Currie coaches in the process - moments later he was at it again when the CS No.12 had a lovely turn and shot at goal that Steven dealt easily with and there was a nice bit of play going forward when Rory did well to lay it off before there was a few body's in trying to get the ball over the line but somehow it stayed out. Alex was doing well being strong standing up to several challenges but CS were pressing and had a series of corners.

Steven had everyone aghast as he produced a fantastic double save in the eleventh min before Alex shot wide at the other end. The CS No.7 got his hat trick in the fourteenth with an unbelievable 30 yard strike over Steven's head - in fairness it did look like it was going over the bar. 2-4.

ACO were putting some moves together and the CS 'keeper did well coming out to clear the danger in the fifteenth min and ACO should definitely have scored just after but somehow it was kept out.  CS had another shot over the bar and there was no dubiety over Rory's next goal, he done well controlling the ball in the area before managing to get the ball past the competent CS 'keeper to make it 3-4 in the seventeenth min - and could have had another just after when the ball was pinging about in the box before the CS 'keeper eventually got a pair of gloves on it -  unfortunately something surprisingly that Steven couldn't quite manage this time getting something on it but not enough, 3-5.

Cameron had a shot at goal that was just wide and another one saved. CS put another ball across goal before just about setting up camp in front of the ACO goal for a period but the final shot was dealt expertly by Steven and right on the brink of full time Andrew produced a quality strike to finish the game a more respectable 4-5, what a game!

Scorers : Harry, Rory (2), Andrew.

Man of the Match : Josh was very close to it today for the second game on the trot and Cameron really got ACO moving today after missing the start of the season with an assured industrious performance but there is only one real contender after his magical display between the sticks, congratulated by the Currie coaching staff after the game, this weeks motm is Steven for great goalkeeping skills today. Well done to all the boys today though.

AC Oxgangs ... 2 Civil Service Strollers ... 7

CSS hit the side net with the first attack of the game, then had another shot over the bar after good play from a throw-in, and their good play continued with a shot off a post in the fifth min.

ACO were doing well down the right and had a series of throw-in's as they pushed forward but CSS hit them on the counter and should have scored with the 'keeper beaten they somehow put it wide. Harry came close in the 9th min when he was unfortunate to see his ball come back off the post, but Steven did well at the other end coming out to clear the danger - but he wasn't able to repeat his heroics shortly after when the CSS player managed to drop a shoulder and go round him to break the deadlock in the 13th min 0-1.

ACO got one back almost immediately and it was a good bit of football with Aiden, Harry and Josh involved with the latter threading in a lovely ball that Aiden rifled home, 1-1. The CSS No.10 hit a long range speculative effort that went in the top right corner, it was a good goal, 1-2.

ACO were probing forward but not able to convert the couple of chances they had, but the goal of the game came from a CSS throw-in after 17 mins - the ball played into the box, with his back to goal the CSS frontman coolly put out the heel of his boot to meet the ball and scored a peach of a backheel high into the back of the net, 1-3. And they went wide just after but it was ACO who would get the next goal with Rory popping up in the right place to nick a classic poachers goal. 2-3.

But a lapse in concentration saw Steven unusually drop the ball allowing CSS in to steal an easy goal back to make it 2-4. He more than made up for it with a cracking save shortly after before the ref blew for half time.
Half Time :
AC Oxgangs ... 2  Civil Service Strollers ... 4

CSS booted the ball way upfield with their first touch of the 2nd half but ACO kept trying to play football with some nice crisp passing football with good movement and tempo, Rory, Harry and Andrew linking up well together.

CSS hit them on the break though and Josh did well getting a good clearance in and playing the ball out to start another ACO attack that finished with Rory through on goal, managing to beat the 'keeper but unfortunately putting the ball just wide.

CSS had two counter attacking moves - the first one was a nice move with good football that Steven did well to deal with - the second move saw the CSS No.10 going on a run himself, electing not to pass to any of his team mates before Steven came out of his area to thwart the danger. The same player had a bad challenge on Josh before suffering one himself then being subbed. CSS got a free kick for it and the good strike went just wide.

Although he hasn't been mentioned, Ewan was having another industrious game and he did well clearing at the back again and Steven was doing his trademark sweeping up, charging out to clear the danger but he couldn't do anything about the next one as CSS hit a nice one from an acute angle in the 14th min, 2-5.

ACO nearly got one back but for the CSS 'keeper with a great save from a good strike from Rory after Ewan did a really good run up the right wing with the ball at his feet, managing to put an excellent cross in to the box. CSS hit on the counter again, Steven stood up well putting in a good save.

The game had opened up and Aiden had his shot saved at one end before Alex produced an incredible double save that got a round of applause and the sub 'keeper was doing well in his first stint in goals in this game. But it was more to do with the energy and build up play of CSS that saw them getting the next goal with them pushing players up in numbers, their coach telling them they had no defence just before they slotted it home to make it 2-6.

The woodwork had already had a bearing on this game before Aiden again cracked one off the crossbar late on but even later, just as the ref was about to blow for full time, Alex, trying to roll the ball out from the back allowed the wily CSS player in to sneak a weak one in injury time to make it a flattering 2-7.

AC Oxgangs ... 2  Civil Service Strollers ... 7

The game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests. ACO played some nice football today, every player doing their best to win individual battles all round the park and competed well - it was also played in a good spirit.

Scorers : Aiden, Rory

Man of the Match : Ewan just beat Josh to claim his 2nd motm in as many games. Great game from both players today.

League
Tynecastle FC ... 7 AC Oxgangs ... 1

Saughton provides a good facility for the youngsters and they all seemed to thrive on it, the fact they had less ground to cover probably added to the game with all players putting in a decent shift.

It was Rory who had the first shot of the game hitting a good volley that the 'keeper couldn't hold, the ball going out for a corner. It was all ACO, pinning TFC back but they were holding strong in defence and in the 4th minute Alex played a lovely ball in for Rory who hit a good shot - again the 'keeper couldn't hold the powerful shot and Aiden was on hand to mop up, breaking the deadlock, 0-1.

TFC did what Spartans did last week and immediately scored to equalise at 1-1. The goal gave TFC a lift and were pressing out more but Bradley did really well on the right side of defence putting in a couple of good strong challenges to break up the play. TFC hit ACO on the counter in the eighth minute but ACO were relieved to see the final ball hitting Steven's left hand post and out.

TFC were starting to play and produced a good build up to take the lead for the first time, 2-1.
It was an enjoyable game with plenty happening but for a period it was end to end, the next clear chance coming in the 18th minute when Alex had a good shot at goal and would have been disappointed to see it going just wide. Josh showed his experience late on in the first half when he expertly marshalled a TFC attack, standing up strongly to his opposite number and forcing the boy to play the ball out and then showed his versatility taking a good free kick that Aiden just couldn't quite get on the end of.
Half Time :  Tynecastle FC ... 2  AC Oxgangs ... 1

TFC had two corners at the start of the second half, they couldn't get anything on either but before ACO could clear the danger at the second one, they managed to play a lovely ball across the face of goal but thankfully for ACO there were no runners at the back post.

TFC were playing a lot better in the second half and Alex, playing in goal for the second half, produced a superb save to stop a certain goal. No one could have done anything about the next one though as TFC were fortunate when the ball ricocheted off a player in the box to make it 3-1 - but it was ACO's turn to be fortunate with the next shot when TFC hit the post and Alex was on hand to collect it easily.

TFC went further ahead, this time it was a set piece - an unmarked TFC player was at the back post to knock it in easily from a corner, 4-1. If ACO felt a bit hard done by at the last one they could have had no complaints about the next when a good passage of play from TFC, with a good build up, that led to a well worked goal, 5-1.

Alex produced a great save in the ninth minute but was immediately subbed, Jim deciding to put Steven back in goal and utilising Alex as an outfield player such is the versatility of these two boys which they both deserve a bit of credit for. Steven held them out until the 13th minute but like many of his team mates, he could do nothing about this bit of skill from TFC when one of their players weaved in and out, beating everyone in his path before wrong footing Steven to score a superb goal, 6-1.

ACO's attitude was very good today (and their discipline too) and they still kept going at 6-1 down. Aiden had a really good shot saved, the 'keeper pushing it out for a corner but TFC hit ACO on the counter again - Rory did really well tracking back the length of the pitch doing enough to put the player off before Steven eventually cleared the danger with his feet in the 15th minute. The young 'keeper was doing well with his trademark charges out of his area acting like an auxiliary sweeper at the back but TFC were to get one more before full time and this one was another with a patient build up to make it 7-1 in the 22nd minute.

League
AC Oxgangs ... 2 Spartans FC Reds .. 13

After the postponed game last week, this was the under 10's first game proper of the new season in the new league and they couldn't have picked a sterner test. The Spartans side that lined up were fresh from their victory after winning the recent tournament at Pinkie. They are well organised, obviously well coached, tall, quick and not short of a wee bit skill, in fact they are probably the strongest side in the Maradona league, the tournament victory supporting that theory.

Having moved up to the under 10's now, the team were afforded the privilege of being able to play on the 'big' pitch for the first time and it took ACO a little while to adjust to the extra space and bigger area's to control. Spartans took the lead in the second minute and it was their diminutive left back that slotted it in after some nice quick passing. They would have had another but Steven somehow contrived to save the ball with his face but he was fine, just pleased to see the ball going out of play.

ACO eventually managed out their own half and put an attack together in the 4th minute Harry doing well in attack. Spartans hit on the counter attack and it was noticeable the sheer numbers pushing up and flooding the box, a useful tool for a team to have in it's locker. Spartans got the first corner of the game in the 8th minute and managed to score from it - there was a bit of a fumble in the box, 0-2.

That goal gave Spartans a lift and ACO were under a bit of pressure but Josh stood up well, putting in a timely challenge to thwart an attack, clearing the ball well. Steven was doing well in goal pulling of some good saves and ACO were starting to come back into the game and in the 12th min they scored. Harry was in the right place to score the rebound after the 'keeper couldn't hold the first shot, 1-2.

Amazingly, Spartans immediately scored from the off, 1-3 and it should have been a fourth not long after when it looked easier to score and it somehow went wide of the post and they went wide again after a nice build up in the 18th minute. They were playing well and saw Steven producing two good saves and another wayward shot go wide after a nice counter attack but the same move paid dividends just before half time making it 1-4.
Half Time :
AC Oxgangs ... 1  Spartans FC Reds .. 4

Spartans started where they had left off in the first half putting one over the bar in the 3rd minute before adding another goal in the 4th minute, 1-5. Steven, playing the second half as a striker, saw a good shot well held by their 'keeper before Aiden managed to reduce the deficit with a nice goal making it 2-5. But again it was short lived as Spartans scored the goal of the game with a sublime move finished off by rounding Alex in goal, 2-6.

They got another shortly after picking up on a slack pass in midfield converted expertly, 2-7 and another in the 12th minute, the first shot rebounded out the second shot hit the back of the net 2-8. A minute later it was 2-9. They were playing some lovely stuff now with the confidence flowing aided by a few ACO heads going down with the score line increasing.

The next one came from a corner in the 15th minute, 2-10. Josh delivered an excellent corner in to the area but ACO shot wide from it. Spartans did similar at the other end with the ball finishing up in the side netting but made no mistake with the next one making it 2-11 in the 18th minute. ACO had another shot just wide in the 20th minute but Spartans got another two goals quite quickly after that making it 2-13.

Rory thought he had scored in the 23rd minute but some how the 'keeper managed to clear it on the line much to the protests from the small striker. Spartans had one more counter attack which finished wide before the ref blew for full time.

Scorers : Harry, Aiden

Man of the Match : Euan, for his hard work and effort and an immense tackle in defence.
