ESSDA have advised that the first half of the current season will end on 13 December 2009 and does not resume until March 2010.
Teams wishing to register for playing football 4's at Riccarton on Sunday lunchtimes in January/February should apply by emailing: john4s@essda.co.uk

Registration deadline is 7th October 2009

ESSDA have issued the following guidelines:

Under 12 - Born in 1998
Under 11 - Born in 1999
Under 10 - Born in 2000
Under 9   - Born in 2001
Under 8   - Born in 2002

  • Overage players can be played in exceptional circumstances, but should be notified to the opposition.

  • Overage players should never be allowed to dominate a game.

  • Playing over-age players to strengthen a weak squad is not allowed.

When players play 11 a side a football, there is no allowance for playing overage players. An overage player who continues to play football will eventually have to play in the their correct age group. The jump to the correct age group may best be made at a young age.

Any club found to be playing overage players in an attempt to win games will have their membership of ESSDA suspended.

Scottish Cup procedures - reminder from the SYFA

Would teams taking part in the early rounds of the Scottish Youth FA Challenge Cups please note the following:

1. Any game cancellation should be notified to the League Secretary Allan Archibald immediately.

2. Any team which has not yet received the official Scottish Cup Team Lines should inform League Secretary Allan Archibald as he holds stock. In all Scottish Cup ties the official self-duplicating team lines must be used, and completed in toto.

Note that Club's failing to use the official team lines may run the risk of the SYFA imposing a fine. Club team lines cannot be accepted as a substitute. You can view and download the correct teamline sheet HERE

SERYFA have reminded coaches that for weekend games both teams telephone the League Secretary with the result (and they will be given the next weekend's fixture). For midweek games, however, only the Home team phones in the result. Please also note that the home team must contact the referee and opposition as soon as possible.

There are several documents available which will be of interest to our coaches (each will appear in a window below this message):
