Under 11’s Blues @ Murieston United Soccer 7’s Festival

The AC boys travelled west to take part in their first football festival.  With 5 games scheduled against teams from West Lothian and Fife the boys were excited but with a little apprehension about the day ahead.

First up were the hosts for the day Murieston and AC finally prevailed 4-2 after two late goals gave them a deserved victory.

Next up was a double header against teams from the Kingdom in Thornton Locos and East Fife which AC won 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.  Whilst the scorelines suggested tight encounters AC were comfortable and were the more likely team to score.

After lunch AC rounded off the day with games against Whitburn and Broxburn Utd during which the boys found their shooting boots and recorded 7-1 and 6-1 victories respectively.

All in all a wonderful day, despite the overcast and windy conditions, and the boys done themselves and the club proud with parents and coaches delighted by the boys teamwork, application and determination to put in practice the passing and moving encouraged during training.

A final word of thanks to Murieston United for the invitation and for the well organised event.

The boys then turned up at CM park this morning complaining of aches and stiffness however, despite these complaints they turned in another strong performance by beating Fernieside 7-2, a performance only tainted by the loss of two late goals were tiredness had truly kicked in.
